Necrocannibalistic Vomitorium / Thanatopsis

I don't think I have a lot to say about this one. The images are my scans and the songs were found on Soulseek. I probably could have done a better job with the scans, sorry about that.
The good news is, NCV's contribution here sounds a lot better than on the split with Vomitoma. Both bands on here have a pretty raw and minimalist sound, with Thanatopsis's gory style and NCV's more pornogrind style complementing each other really well.

Gangrene Discharge / Putrefuck

Gangrene Discharge has always had great riffs, but the first few tracks of the GD side of this split are especially entertaining because 1) the first track is a banjo intro and what's not to love about that? and 2) the following two tracks contain a mix of pitch shifted and natural vocals. I don't know what Bobby was doing or why he kept it limited to only those two tracks, but I think it sounds really good.
I wasn't very enthusiastic about the first Putrefuck material I heard (their first demo, which also served as their side of the split with Cannibe and some others that I posted a few years ago), but this is pretty good. The drumming is tighter and they sound overall more focused and intense. I think they benefit from having a less noisy guitar sound here too. The Catasexual Urge Motivation cover doesn't touch the original obviously, but it is good and makes a good closer for this split. I'll have to check out what they've been up to since this split at some point.
Henfucker Records wasn't active for very long and I don't think this split is available anywhere anymore.

Pusdrainer / Sunken Cheek

The Pusdrainer side of this is taken from Bandcamp and the Sunken Cheek side is my rip. The first and last Pusdrainer tracks are very subdued and ominous, kind of death industrial sounding, I think. The middle song is much more harsh and in your face but is still similar to the other two in structure. Justin Lakes retired Pusdrainer in 2013 or so but has continued to do noise with Shredded Nerve. He also seems to have resurrected Pusdrainer, having released a new tape last year and done some shows under that name this year and last.
The Sunken Cheek track is more straightforward instrumental noise. It's fine but not as interesting as more recent material, I think. Sunken Cheek has only continued to grow and improve in the years since this split, and the latest tape on New Forces is excellent. (edited Feb 2019)
Human Beard released a pretty decent quantity of cool noise and I regret not supporting the label while it was active. I think they were finished by the time I was getting into ordering shit from underground labels. I'm going to have to lurk discogs for more Human Beard releases, and I will hopefully get more stuff by both artists on this split at some point as well.
